My Story
Dedicated to the highest quality in custom home building.

A builder's journey
I grew up in Taylor, Arizona, a small farming and ranching community in Northeastern Arizona. My father was a home builder in the area, and I grew up helping him on his job sites — cleaning, hauling lumber, shoveling dirt.
As I grew older I helped with pouring concrete, framing, roofing, siding, electrical wiring, plumbing — basically everything that had to do with building a home. Back in the day, the contractor and his employees built the entire house. That gave me a good foundation in the custom home building business.
In junior high school I took a mechanical design class that sparked my interest. I continued taking architectural design and drafting throughout high school and eventually started drawing house plans for my dad. As word spread, I began drawing custom house plans for other people looking to build.
After serving a two-year church mission in Japan, I decided to study Engineering at Brigham Young University in Utah. During my studies I had the opportunity to travel to Japan and work for two manufacturing companies as an intern. After graduation I worked for several Japanese automotive manufacturers — including Subaru, where I was a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer in Quality Control, Process Improvement, Production Efficiency, and Continual Improvement.
After about ten years in the engineering field, I became more interested in going into home construction like my dad. In 2003 I took a job as an engineer for a custom home building company north of Atlanta — helping with their scheduling, estimating, budgeting, and selecting design software for drawing house plans. I eventually started building their custom homes as well.
In 2005 I decided to start my own business building custom homes. We sold our home and moved in with my wife Katy's parents for a year while getting started. We've been building custom homes every year since — over 250 to date, and currently about 12 a year. I love what I do, and I'm committed to building the highest quality custom homes in the area.
